Basic Digital Photography -
Class # 1
NOTE - This class is made up of
two
Sessions (plus an OPTIONAL photo safari, see below)-
DATES - Thursday, June 17, 2010 & Thursday, June 24, 2010
TIMES - 7pm-9:30pm
COST - $100 which includes two 2.5 hour sessions and a Digital
Photography book
CLASS SIZE - Maximum 8 Students to assure adequate hands on teaching
and interaction
INTENDED PARTICIPANTS- Beginning digital photographers with Point and
Shoot or SLR Cameras (the large "Single Lens Reflex" Cameras that have
interchangeable lenses)
CLASS CONTENT - Basic Syllabus...
- What is a Digital Image? How does it differ from a film image?
- Digital Workflow - How do I get the image out of my camera and into my
hands?
- Basic Camera Settings - automatic vs. manual vs. "scene settings"
- Basic Photographic Composition - the rule of thirds
- Affordable Methods of Printing Photos - which local labs have proven
reliable and affordable
- How do I SAVE my photos? The art of backing up one's precious
memories...
- A Discussion on Computers and photo software ( recommendations on free
and affordable software programs)
- Some tips and techniques for getting excellent results from point and
shoot digital cameras
- Cropping tips
- On the second day we will bring 10 favorite 4x6 images and make note
cards (with envelopes) that you will take home and then send out to
friends & family to show your new found skills!
